At this point in my schooling, I was pretty used to working by myself on projects. I kind of had a process worked out. When told this project would be a group project, I was absolutely terrified! Luckily, I got partnered with two people that I worked well with and greatly respected as designers: Amanda Lucius and Corey Hillman.
Together, we created a fictional non-profit organization called Project Terra. The idea behind the company would be that they would go around teaching people about the importance of the environment and plant new plant-life. Kind of in the same spirit as Keep America Beautiful.
One interesting idea that we had was using recycled papers and environmentally friendly inks in all of the organizations printed assets. This idea is what created the foundation for the 6″x6″ brochure which would be printed on a recycled paper with seeds embedded in the fibers. That way, if someone decided to just drop the brochure on the side of the road, at least the brochure would be put to a good secondary use.
Though, all of this was hypothetical, including the paper idea, this was a fun exercise in to branding and working with a group. Our styles worked really well with each other and the collaboration created one of my absolute favorite pieces. You should definitely go check out Amanda and Corey’s work!
